I just spoke to a werner rep this morning, If I herd him correctly he said they do not have contracts. As far as tuition reimbursement after 30 days thry pay 100.00 a month. if you quit, payments stop.

Most guys go to Werner for the "LARGE CARS" They seem to thing being sceen in a KW W900L or Pete 379 Is more important than the paycheck.

Here's some interesting reading on Werner.

Many are extending the "indentured servant" period. A local company around here (Nick Strimbu) requires 2-years.
I don't know the politics of all this company provided CDL training, but I am betting somewhere they are double dipping from both the government and the slave.
Write your Congressman and Senators, tell them you don't want any subsidies, grants, or other "Corporate Welfare" for trucking companies, railroads, airlines, car makers, steel companies, or the welfare queen with 6 kids from 6 different men.
Again, I don't know the politics. But no industry could get this screwed up without the helping hand of Uncle Sam. -
Hey Turbo; That site stole a thread from here and your name is on Wernerscrews. See above hyperlink. It's very prominent there.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience with Werner - luckily I didn't go through their schooling - I went to a private school then got hired on with them..
So far I like Werner. they've been great to me - I've been with them since the end of August '06 and probably be with them for a lot longer.. As long as I don't get screwed over like so many others have...

Turbo did you read my post above?

I think Turbo has been missing for some time.
Did he go climbing on Mt Hood???? -
I just finished about 5 months with Werner and learned a valuable lesson: I wasted a lot of time sitting without a load, or without an empty to deadhead to my next stop. There were simply too many times I'd get dispatched and find myself sitting for HOURS waiting on the load.
If you're not rolling, you're not making $$$. Dedicated routes are better IF you can get one and with Werner, this is not an easy option as most of the dedicateds are already spoken for.
I won't badmouth Werner as they were a great intro into the trucking industry for me and I gained valuable experience as a 48 state OTR driver. Just couldn't make any real $$$...
Today, I signed with a local company hauling their products with their trucks, with guaranteed home time and averaging $55K/yr for OTR. -
