I looked through similar posts but didn't get the answer I was looking for. What I want to know is: Will I be limited in the choice of companies who will look at my application if the school I attend is not well known. It's a small jr college but absolutely accredited. I chose it because it is close to my home and I can pay the tuition out of pocket. Has anyone out there been turned away because of the school you attended or has anyone heard of such a thing happening?

Some companies have a set number of hours required(180+\-). That a student driver must have completed to be hired as a trainee. Each company is different, however, in what they will accept or deem as qualifide training. So be sure to ask the liers uhm, I mean, recruiters that come to the school, and don't be afraid to call on other companies to see what they may require for training.

    Thanks misterG,
The school I'm going to provides 240 hrs over a 6 week period. Maybe that will help. I'm thinking now that I need to contact the school again and ask them the question.

i think your best bet is calling some companies instead and asking them if they recognize your school as a legitimate training facility

I do know that the school I went to TDI is don't accepted by all companies. It maybe a good idea to ask the trucking company you have your eye on. If the school is accepted there, Before going throw all of it and find out the hard way. I paided for my school at TDI upfront so I don't have that contact thang to worry about. Hope it helped a little.:smt118 I learned the hard way until I found these guys. great stuff, thanks.
