Well there are a couple of reasons.
    1. your log has to match the times if you get pulled in. And I imagine the company probably matches them up also. ( EZpass time & prepass times are recorded )

2.Prepass will signal to the DOT that it's time for an inspection if you haven't been pulled in for a while.

Which is all fine and dandy it just makes thinks a little more difficult than it has to be.

to answer a few questions yes you do get a penny a mile more if you dont take the insurance. millis does require the use of the prepass plus in all trucks for tolls and scales. the only exception is the southeast regional trucks they only have the prepass for scales since they dont deal with toll roads. the logs come in a stapled log book and they are not numbered the ones using loose leaf have just taken the staples out and made them into a loose leaf. all millis trucks are dispatched out of black river and that is every bodys home terminal. the regional trucks pretty much run to the same terminals all the time and the otr trucks just go where ever freight takes the. hope this helps you all if not just ask and i will try to answer any of your other questions.

A question about dispatching: Are you assigned each load or do you have a choice of loads that are available at that particular time?

see i knew spanky would chime in and help hehe

I didn't think about that with the prepass and ezpass stuff, but it still isn't hard to get around I'm sure considering alot of drivers deal with that :biggrin_255:

we still run the t600, t2000, freightliner cascadia and we are getting t660 now also. all the kws run cats except the 2010 t660 and t2000 and they run cummins. the white freightliners run mercedes and the cascadias run detroits. maintence is every 25000 miles and they do not provide inverters but will put one in if buy it. they have 30 trucks currently with apus and they are not planning on getting anymore. yes we do run alot of the same towns but there are some that are always going somewhere different.

I heard they were trying to phase out the T2000's. Trying to get the whole fleet to go T600. But you know how rumors are.
