I think you should read up on Tramadol. It's a synthetic version of codine and I don't think I would take it and drive. Of course I wouldn't take a pill for a cold if I drove either. Just remeber that you may be able to get approval to take a certain mediction and be legal and all but there may come a time when you have to prove it did not effect your driving for the life of you. If someone gets kill or hurt very badly the opposing lawyer is going to spend a lot of time trying to prove that was the cause of the accident. You'll be on the trial of your life. For example I remeber years ago a trailer broke away from the pintle hook on the truck and the trailer went down the off ramp flipped and killed a young girl. The lawyer spent days going over how the hook was inspected by the driver,by the shop, when and how. They even went to the manufacture to see if that company produced a bad pintle hook. The case lasted over 2 years and the driver could not drive until it ended. That's just a short example but the point is they will dig and dig if they smell any thing that might get them their win.

Regardless of the note you want to be at least 6 hours clean before driving commercial.
I have RA and with the new rules I can only take Tramadol when I’m on the road.
    It is what it is.
If you’re trying to get a job you shouldn’t be taking it let alone mentioning it.

Trucking 70 hours a week isn't exactly the best way to avoid neck pain. The reason for the neck pain should come up on the medical questions too. Getting everyone on board [don't believe the recruiter, look back on all the threads about the guys riding home on the grey dog from orientation] company, doctor, MRO, etc. WILL be a problem.
