I suppose some companies can lurk around here..so best to keep it safe...
-although I never known you to really blast anything or anyone - just sharing your experiences
with the rest of us...

We have a pretty accurate picture of life at Roehl from this thread. Job done, I'd say.

did u say anything about ur frustrations to anyone else other then this forum? Did u ever give a truck number or emplyee number anywhere one this forum?

List where you are on specific days often enough...

Hang tough. I see more companies looking for drivers lately. One of our instructers said there is a little bump just before Christmas. If we get offered a job before Christmas? Grab it!
January is usually slow. February too. Then they hire more in March.
Our instructor seems to be very savvy in the trucking game. He never was a company driver from day 1. He is a former creative writing, math, teacher at college level.
Things are going to loosen up in a few months.
It's a small internet out there! -
I must say that is sad that you cant be human and be frustrated and tell the truth about your journey at roehl
I have gone through this thread and cant really find
anything that warrents this kind of treatment from your
employer. Its apperent that roehl and the managment
team are showing what they are capable of when it comes to protecting company image.

Hi, Everett you most likely will have to go to a approved cdl school to get on with any of the major
carriers, since you have been inactive for three years.
if you have extensive otr experiance, you might try local or a smaller company or drive for a o/o.
If you do decide on roehl you can go through their
school and then with a trainer. evo is the training otr
with a trainer and there are three of them. evo 1 & 2
with trainer otr and three is by your self.
Time frame for all that depends on your progress
Im guessing eight to ten weeks possibly longer. there are others on this thread that can be more precise.
Good luck to ya

I have been watching what happens on this forum. When you and others that were really positive about Roehl suddenly let off steam about treatment...it seemed to me that in a few days things were fixed by Roehl for you. However, I know how they are and I know how they treat their new people...crappy trucks with 590000 miles on them and heaters and air not working...and NEVER home on time. The per diem is for their benefit not the drivers...and the school is being run for their own profit. I would put in my six months and get out of there.
And really watch what you say to other drivers...when you see them...if Roehl was as great a company as they like to brag then they would not worry about this forum....they would be worrying about keeping their word to the drivers who are out there working.
My last trainer said he made $80000 a year with his miles his trainees drove for him. If a trainee is there for 6 months they get a bonus and another at a year. So if they do a lot of training they make a LOT of money. I still would like to know why my second trainer out of Gary had a 14 on and 7 off schedule and did not have to share her new truck. She has had that truck for 84000 miles and it sits idle every 14. She doesn't teach pretrip, she can't wait to stop so she can go have a "few" beers and comes back after the joint closes to the truck.
Oh and I owe for RDTC because I failed to meet my obligations. Their words...and Dale in training...a snake in the grass! The joke of that training was I already had my cdl-a with doubles, triples, hazmat and tankers. Plus otr and also driving my own truck. If I wanted to work for Roehl I had to do the school. WHY?!
You know that workbook that HAS to be done after EVO2. I knew something was up when they did not want to even look at my workbook.
I have watched you try to be the best employee you can be for Roehl...I am so sorry they have "threatened" you. What has happened to our freedom of speech in this country?
