Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
Okay...this is the type job I need...any suggestions?

Lol why? Everyone has their particular wants and he just stated what he wanted in a job. I dont work on weekends (mostly) so whats the difference. Maybe finding one where he can have the wife along might be a chore but I'm sure there are jobs like that out there.blessedtrucker Thanks this.

Ok not gonna start the whole religious thing, but it DONT matter one bit which church you go to, the lord knows whats going on, its not about the church, the belongings in the church, or even the people there, its the faith in your heart and mind that make it.. A church dont make god, you do......Soon as you get that point, then maybe some more doors will open for you-when you need to find something, you cant throw almost impossible criteria into into it, and expect to get what you want

I would greatly appreciate it if you refrained from calling people names.

You know the most pathetic thing, you are such a company slave you can not see any thing other than doing what the COMPANY tells you. I feel sorry for those that have to live their lives this way.
Blessed, some where out there is a job that's right for you, it may take a while to find, but its out there. Don't give up looking, and don't compromise your faith.blessedtrucker Thanks this. -
Me, a company slave? That's hilarious! Got news for you, the only trucks I ever drove (except for about 3 months early on) have all had my name on the pink slip. (well, last name anyway, my Grandfather and father owned most of them)onetime42 Thanks this.

Not taking sides here (who am I kiddin') but you would be better off having this discussion looking in the mirror. Chances are the guy looking back at you would get the point before certain people on here. I've learned that when you are dealing with people that are overly religious it's a waste of time trying to get them to just open their eyes and realize that the so-called big man upstairs isn't going to help them with a job, your finances or your personal relationships. My advice....if your wife is sick, leave her at home where medical attention and family is nearby. As far as jobs go right now with this thrilling economy that we are all suffering with, keep the dump trailer/tanker whatever job you currently have and make due with it. Oh, I almost forgot....God bless!

I am not the most religious person in the world by any means, I haven't even gone to church in a couple of years; but to Blessed, do what is best for you and your wife. The good Lord will take care whether you able to attend church or not, because He is an understanding savior. I believe that he would expect you to do whatever you need to do to take care of your wife, that's most important. He will always be in your heart, and as long as you are able to keep Him in your heart, the doors will open for you, regardless of whether you attend church regularly or not. I am new to trucking, and I do know that there are options out there for you. One guy advised me to look into companies like Pepsi or Budweiser. I was also advised that a lot of flatbed companies will give you most weekends off. My thing is take care of home and your wife.

Try petroleum haulin' ... Eagle ... Kenan ... PTC ... Reliable ... Pope ... MTM ... or even a local oil jobber (local oil company doing their own hauling for their own customers with their own trucks). Been haulin' gas for 23 years and never have HAD to work on a Sunday except for an occasional Sunday night. That might work for you ... hope it helps!

since your in Ga. if your not too far from Savannah, look into the container hauling companies, most work 6days per week Mon. - Sat. or leave out sometime on Sunday afternoon is typical.
