Assumeing the noise doesnt change much with coax pulled off the back...I would decide on a well known shop and see if the can look at it and explain it as they show you as to what happening..Then go from there..
To do that, shops gonna need some good calibrated gear..

I don't think we will ever know. He doesn't seem to want to do the coax test.

ok,, I removed the coax, and noise level went to 0, like it would with any radio I have,,,,like I mentioned earlier,, I have come up with a system of adjusting the RF gain,, and that has helped a ton,,, also like I said ear;ier,, never before have I had to turn back the RF gain, to eliminate unwanted noise,, one thing for sure,, my yellow LED flashing light,, interferes with Cobra 200 a little,, but the LED flood light I added to plow,, 'really' tears up the radio,,, super noise,, can not RF or squelch it out,,,,

Ok, if Sparky didn't do the NB/ANL correctly while doing the receive alignment, it can either make the receiver a little noisier, or more deaf.
Or it's just a poor receiver circuit in the radio.
Unfortunately it's more difficult dealing with LED lights and other electronic gadgets in the vehicle that add additional noise into the radio through the antenna. Sounds like you have found a work around by slightly turning the RF gain down some. I've never used a Cobra 200, so I have no idea if noisy receive is the nature of the 200's or if it's just this particular radio. It's definitely a nice looking radio.
