Hi there I've been driving about 12 years I'm from Canada and sometimes we get stuck in the snow in our horrible yard I'm also stuck right now at a Love's truck stop. I just saw a product called traction mats you stick in front or behind the drive tires and you drive over them to get traction has anybody used these things and is there a good one for semi trucks because most seem good for cars and vans.

    Bleach works better.
Just don’t let your boss know it. ;)

I've laid another drivers chains in front of my drives once at a truck stop.

also have traction boards for my Jeep. work good. might work on the big truck if you 2 one for each tire on a dual.

No. Just a splash on the drives. The friction will do the work.

I found that out yesterday morning after coming down the Cabbage Patch. My truck had 6 inches of ice around all my tires. Took me 1.5 hrs to free my truck. Chains didn't work for about 8 of us. A couple of drivers got lucky & the chains worked.

I'm forever grateful & thanked all the guys who helped me.

    I went today & bought de-icer & kitty litter.

Myself if I were just stuck in a small rut and only needed to move a couple feet to good ground I'd just lock everything up and drape a single tire chain over top of 1 set of tires. Then just pull ahead 10 or 15 feet to good ground, stop and pick up the chain on the ground.

I've never used a traction mat or been around one but I would think it would be hard to get it under the tire enough for the tire to grab it and get on top of it. Especially if you are sunk down a little.

I use chicken grit (very much like floor dry or kitty liter) I keep a couple hundred pounds on the truck at all times. The stuff works miracles. Throw some down in front and behind tires. Kick some under the tires and usually drive right out
