    1) I can make a decent living driving a truck? What?
    2) I can own my own business and take it with me wherever I go?
    3) the board of directors of my little company can meet in a phone booth?
    4) I can go for hours at a time without talking to another human being?
    5) I can be surprised when I find out where I'm headed next?
    6) I can see the Mississippi River, the Grand Canyon, the Space Needle, and Nebraska cornfields all in the same week - and somebody's paying me to do it?
    7) I can get health, dental, vision, 401k, life insurance, paid vacations and I'm still gonna get a paycheck every week or so?
    8) I've got friends everywhere I go?
    9) I can go on-line for a laugh or advice whenever/wherever I'm stopped?
    10) I can stop and take a break, a nap, a picture, a ......, any time I want to as long as I'm on schedule?

Yeah, I know, kinda smaltzy and unrealistic! But, hey, a fella can dream, right?

Awesome! ####, ####, ####!!!! All I got on tap for this week is 4 routes per day picking up little kiddies and taking them to school and back home. I really don't mind, as a matter of fact I enjoy most aspects of the job. Talk about having to be safety conscious - and doing it with 50+ little mouths going at the same time. But, as long as there's no bloodshed, I figure I had a good day.
I am itching to get to driving school (scheduled next summer at jr college) then find out if I'm cut out to be a trucker.
    Thanks,

Do you think companies decide where they're not hiring drivers from - based on where TruckerDave happens to be at the time?

Let's be fair to Dave here...He works for Knight!

He has a reason to be miserable.

Oops! I forgot - you got a point BlackW. Nah, Dave's been a great friend for the short time I've been a member of this forum. Ya wanna get him fired up - talk about old navy - and I'm not talking about clothes!
