    Hello everyone!

I just wanted to say hello to everyone. I am new to the forums, and brand new to the trucking industry. Currently my fiance', Priscilla, and I are in All-State Career School in their Advanced Tractor-Trailer Driver's Program. We are looking to go out as an Over-the-Road team.

We are very excited about entering this business. We are both professionals and love to drive. Currently we have nothing holding us back. We had a son in 2007 but he passed in 2008 due to a major heart condition. So, we have decided to take some time and do something together to build our income, and our life experience before we decide to have another little one.

I am a former Marine, and have spent the past five years in the automotive industry. Since the recent death of most dealerships around here, lol, I have been looking for a career switch. Priscillas' grandfather is a retired trucker with 36 years of experience and helped to point us in this direction. In addition our neighbor is the Assistant Director of Trainign at the school, so we made sure to do our research.

We are both loving the school. They have a 24 week program and we are currently on our third week. The program is a good program and fairly in depth. The instructors are professional and do not blow smoke. They talk a lot of the hardships on the industry currently, and stress professionalism. We both are doing very well in the course. I know there is a long road ahead but we are up for the challenge.

If anyone has any words of advice, encouragement, or just comments in general we greatly appreciate it. I am trying to do all of the research I can on companies, and am currently starting our application process. We are both ready, willing, and able to work hard. Thank you everyone and I look forward to joining this community, and learning all that I can learn!

    Thank you, and Semper Fi!

    Thank you everyone,

Yes, we both have a copy of our MVR, no issues. Backgrounds are great. She has nothing and I still hold a TS government clearance so I know my background is very clean. lol. No, they don't guarantee us any job placement there. They told us up front the only way to get a good job is to keep a clean record, and to start working on our applications early, also they are give interview classes, resume classes, etc there. The program here is pretty good. I wouldn't have applied for it before I did all of my research. I know it won't garantee me anything. The only thing that will help me get a good job is me.
