Took of from shop loaded (160k) after a 20 minute warm up at 1000rpm at about 20°F ambient.
few miles down road truck starts to push coolant out of the rad cap.
Made to to destination, unload, top off coolant. Truck will run fine rest of day, maybe spits a tiny about of coolant.
power is good and temps are normal, has done this twice now, both times leaving loaded on a cold morning. If my first run down the road is empty it doesn’t do it ??
Peculiar C-15MXS problem.

rad cap junk
Diesel Dan 92 Thanks this. -
Start with rad cap, mine did that and it was a cracked head ,ended up doing a total rebuild

The BXS I drive did that as well. Changed the rad cap, didn’t fix it.
The head was cracked and pushed more coolant out the more it worked.
Drove it that way for almost a year. Kept the engine fan going non stop to keep the coolant cooler. Didn’t push as much coolant.
Then during winter time, did a in frame with a reman head.Diesel Dan 92 and joey8686 Thank this. -
No coolant in oil so I guess I’ll keep running it for now. -
By the time I stopped driving the truck to do the inframe at the end of November, the truck was pushing 4 litres of coolant every 2 days. More if I worked it hard.
Using the engine fan all the time, I noticed the truck didn’t push as much coolant.
By the end, using the fan didn’t help anymore, even in cool November weather:
It was time to stop driving it.650cat425 and Diesel Dan 92 Thank this.
