that cooking with your car #### is lame-o....I'd rather get a propane burner and a tank to put in the trunk of my car. Or a small grill.

I can't say I have tried it, but it is a good idea, and I will some day. Have you? I wouldn't spout off at the mouth if you haven't. I am sure a beef roast with carrots, onions and spices wrapped in foil would be delicious. That name sounds like royalty, are you royalty?

Matter of fact, there are signs concerning those items on tunnels.

I pull NEW Campers. They have empty tanks on them. I get stopped on the bridges because of them at times and have been checked to verify they are empty.

That is why I said to use CHARCOAL grills. I hate propane. It is for sissies that don't know how to cook.

    Photolurp:

I don't eat off of aluminum unless I have no say in it
I have not tried it and do not intend to unless I have no other options
If I would be ok cooking with foil I'd likely try the fish in the dish washer trick first
    I am not royalty

Yes I have done that,...Well sort of,....

Back when I was working in construction it was very common to heat up left overs or cans of soup or beans etc, On the engines of the backhoes or dozers,...

I have seen guy cook hamburgers wrapped in foil in loads of hot mix on road construction sites,...

My dad was expert at cooking on the engine. Learned to do it in WWII on airplane and jeeps. He was one of those let's go we're losing a mile a minute guys. Used to cook everything from dogs and beans to a roast on Ford station wagon w/ wood sides. sure tasted good back then. I have BBQ'd a dozen or so burgers and heated them up in foil on the engine when driving. Never have actually cooked them on it though. heat is heat and a good cook can figure out how to make almost anything tasty.

I've done the cooking with engine a few times, used to pick up cans of spaghetti'os and chef boy ardee. Carry a can opener with me, pop one little hole in the top for vent, cover with foil, and lay it on the side of the engine buy the turbo and take off. Usually about 45 minutes and it would be warmed enough to eat. Only downside, don't forget it's there. BTDT, took a month of engine washes to get it all off the engine when the can exploded.

Your good. The propane you carry does not met the Haz-Mat regs. I have one for my camper and they work great. I imagine you use the little green tanks.

Best use of a wide ISX valve cover is a grill.
