And despite the incessant robbery of most of his money he continues to reside in Pennsylvania.

His description of them is INSANE yet he still forks it all over.

I would just leave too but I get it. For a lot of people it isn’t that easy to just pack up and leave.

It really is a shame. I love the endless mountain region but more and more people are leaving the state because of the idiot law makers. Most people I've talked to are looking at the Carolinas or Florida.

Moving anywhere in mainland USA is a lateral move, it ain't much better in the Carolinas or Florida. The only place in my mind it always makes sense to move OUT of is California, but the irony is that California is one of the most beautiful and fun places to visit in the country. By that I mean the Sierras, all the mountains and NP's. I don't at all mean LA or anywhere like it.

There's nowhere that's perfect, or I'd be there.

Oh yeah I know. I plan on staying in this area as long as im still trucking. Most other places i wouldn't be able to be home daily running my 350 miles a day, well at least not making the same money. My parents are looking to move to Florida in the next few years just to get away from the winters. We already have family around the Tampa area and 2 of my mom's siblings are leaving jersey for Florida too in the next few years.

I want nothing to do with Florida, way too hot for me Lol. I really don't mind the winters up here. Maybe 30 years from now I'll have a different opinion haha

Well the funny thing is that I lived in California for a few years. And pretty much everybody that I met out there when they found that I was from Pennsylvania they said what the hell are you doing out here. Pennsylvania is absolutely beautiful. And they are correct.

We get a full complete change of seasons. Snow storms every year cold weather to blazing hot summers. The foliage in the fall it's something everyone should see. I'm less than an hour and a half from the beach and about the same from the mountains.

If you go further south you begin getting into even more humid Summers and serious hurricanes. God forbid you go north because it's just too effing cold. If you go to neighboring states to the West you don't have the beach.

Center city Philadelphia aside from all the historic things, is a really nice place to go and take a date or just go hang out. There is great food and nice parks. South Philadelphia has great Italian food and great Italian bakeries. There's an awesome Chinatown that has any kind of Asian interest that you would like.

But like all good things leave it to the politicians to screw it up.

no place is perfect however some are worse than others. PA would be considered a high tax state I am sure. I've seen quite a bit of it including Philly and Pittsburgh. I only briefly considered PA back when I still lived in NJ, and quickly found it wasn't all that much less in terms of COL and state/local taxes. NJ has the highest property taxes anywhere but that didn't apply to me.

It is one of the nicest places in the world strictly in terms of natural climate and geography, which is why so many moved there and turned it into a nightmare.
