Progress has been made on my end, never knew buying a truck was such a mind numbing PITA...... So far there are 4 scratched off the list, first one mechanical, 2nd one and 3rd financer dropped the ball. 4th dealer dropped ball.
5th is go to sign pending my partners inspection. Here's hoping.
For all my efforts I now have a decent financer, and this Time a dealer whos not a box of rocks.
I didn't quit my day job yet, soooooooo
I managed to run from PHX to Indiana, over to PA , up to albany, over to Maine just in time to miss the mega storm. Came down hard in Jersey when I got my container to Long Beach. Everything off the turnpike there was ice. Which helpfully made jersey traffic actually a plesant jaunt belive it or not. But so far we are past OKC and its a breeze.
I havent taken many pictures recently but mostly because its the same as always, if I rember ill take a pic of the container before I deliver it. Not that thats exciting either.
Container yard was in Newark.
Those two sitting on the nose of the trailer, the tall one went to albany, the 3 in front to Maine. Previous 4 stops dropped off prior.
And the shot in the plane is a protip for you who like leg room. Figure out where that seat is and book it. I was on like 6 flights 3 weeks ago.Farmtractor9900, D.Tibbitt, booley and 9 others Thank this. -
This is from JB Hunt, and I can't do the load anyways, but I was curious about the rate. I don't know the market coming out of Illinois. Is this a good rate? I can't imagine it is, coming from these guys, but it's over three bucks a mile.

Chicago and NW Indiana has been slammed with flat loads. Loads I run that typically pay $1100 on 275 miles have been posted for $1300-1500. No tarp.650cat425, FerrissWheel, D.Tibbitt and 5 others Thank this. -

I've gotten some decent rates out of them and the 360⁰ app is easy to use. Tjey have paid quickly as well.
They do at times post some really bad rates but who doesn't. They do pay good if they need things done. I think some people jump on the lower rates at times driving some prices down but what can you do.650cat425, Farmtractor9900, FerrissWheel and 3 others Thank this. -
Theres fema loads headed down that way to Texas because of how bad it got last week? Three dollars a mile doesn’t really sound like a whole lot if you dead head the whole way back?650cat425, staceydude, Farmtractor9900 and 6 others Thank this. -
Their management seems to have changed. They reduced the fleet, hire experienced drivers and pay a reasonable wage.Last edited: Feb 23, 2021

Container from a few days ago. We have a truck now. Just got the insurance on it a few hours ago. Our carrier is itching for it. My partner is far more skilled than myself. But that has always been the arrangement. I had the money and the credit. He has the skills. I was saving said money for another purpose but none the less. Certain opportunities you dont pass.
Anyway, 2007 379 18sp C15 with 3.55 rears and a 20k drop. 500k miles, former Trinity truck. We looked it over top to bottom. Even im having a hard time believing what shape its in. We were not looking for a 4 axel, but my partner made some phone calls, and the carrier said they can utilize it. Still all else fails we can have that axel off if we really need too. Gonna change those bloody steel wheels tho. Got a few things to do to it. Carrier is gonna put ramps on. But we have a few things we are doing to it before we even get there.
The kicker, even though we are still looking for me a truck. The carrier said that they might have a place for me even without one. We will see what happens. But here she is.
The next few weeks is going to be interesting whether its one or both of us. We were originally checking out a sister truck to this one in San Antonio that had already sold, then we found out this was avalible and sitting down the road in PHX so we took a look.
Time for me to rest.
