Seriously Dave. I got very lucky this entire trip. Rather stressful dodging the snow storms. But didn’t have to chain up once.

There on 20. I was fully expecting to play with chains that day. Day before. Through Boise. I could see the entire West skies clear. Good sign. Then when out in the morning from Ontario. I found that last 80 miles clear. It had started snowing. I knew it was a race to get there before the roads got bad. Didn’t get too bad on me.

Maybe the Ghost of Snowstorms present was with me?:)

I haven’t used the chains on this truck yet. New truck and chains. They can’t get me a rack for chains yet. So when I use them. Gonna have to bunji them to the catwalk. Then worry about them getting stolen.

Im sure chaining this won’t be a big deal. I have memories of double chains on that trash truck. They were awful to deal with.

Chain holder is like $200. I think one thing no one has to worry about much is stolen chains.

I’ve had too much trouble with padlocks freezing up. Especially with snow and ice all over them.
I’ve gone to using a seal on the trailer door instead.

They just say they’re not available. Want the one that is right for this Volvo from Volvo.
This company does real good on maintenance. I got a clean level 3 on i40 in Arizona. Those guys seem to be really on trucks. This cop looked at my truck. Looked at the trailer. Then figured anything more than a level 3 was a waste of his time. :laughing-guffaw:

Ladies and Gents, it's that time of year again, break out the polish and get that jewelry ready, snow is being called for across the mountains of Colorado and Wyoming, including but not limited to I-80, US 30, I-70, US 40, US 50. Colorado already had the passenger vehicle traction law in place for Hwy 9 this morning.
