Load-to-Truck Ratio

Flatbed capital of the country right there. At least that's what was told to me when I was pulling flatbed. I think in Alabama at that time it was estimated to be about 5 loads to every truck, and I actually could see that. I hauled steel religiously out of there, you would have that I was in Portage or somewhere else up there.

 

I generally don't look by state. I'll need to check that, but there's an AL load our office has that has 1584 more loads than trucks in its area, so that tracks.

 

Man, that's insane. I don't think very many people in that state can count. Do you think it's accurate? Maybe the 16 is a typo and there are just 28 loads of mulch headed from the same place to Home Depots.

 

Some data sources count posting, not actual load. Just now watching load for tomorrow, I know the shipper. I know shipper has one load but this load have posted 5 different brokers. Now it's 5 loads.

 

It's not terribly accurate in either direction. Since ITS counts loads and trucks posted for multiple day pick ups as individual loads, and as you noted, multiple brokers working the same load, it gets skewed. However, it is a reasonable barometer for the market conditions.

 

Lets not forget the dillholes that post the same load but each post is a different city in a 50 mile raidus as the acutal pickup location. Ever seen that one before ?

Bonus points if you could find that + the same load being double brokered ! Thats how u know u got a good one ....

 

I've caught a few trying to double broker us that way. It's kind of insulting honestly.
