I ran 7 loads so far in the past 2 weeks. 3 last week, and 4 this week. Have to deliver in the morning, and then have some farming to do. I'll have run just a little over 1200 miles, 5 1/2 days. Home every night. Averaging $3.87/mile on all miles. I don't think that's too shabby for just getting going. Just hoping that I can keep it up.

I'm working on a direct customer to see if we can get some kind of an agreement put together. Hauling precast concrete. Drop and hook their trailers. They're at $85/hr, which I think isn't enough. I'm thinking I need to be at $100/hr. It's a 50 mile deadhead from home to their pickup yard. Would pick up a loaded trailer and drop at jobsite about 40 miles away, then take an empty back. Should be able to get 3-4 loads a day. May have to put in a fuel surcharge as well as fuel goes up.
Anyone doing any hourly jobs? I know a lot of the OTR guys like to be at $1000 a day, but the local stuff is a little different.feldsforever Thanks this. -
Sounds like you might get close to $1k a day if you're doing 3-4 loads. That sounds pretty good to me honestly.
I'll be real curious to see what kind of feedback you get on this plan ^^^.Dino soar Thanks this.
