Got an offer to do the linehaul cdl training program with Reddaway today. Will start training early April. Started the background check and have to do drug test. Helps that I have my permit and all endorsements already

Congrats. Seems like a good opportunity to learn the trade and get a decent pay/benefit package. We're basically in the same position with these guys.Grove_LA Thanks this.

@RussianBearTruckeR FedEx Freight has multiple yards in FL, and we're seeking drivers!
FedEx Careersjmz and RussianBearTruckeR Thank this. -
Thanks I'm getting Jerked around at current otr reefer outfit...Linehaul question...I'm assuming you fuel at the terminals since it's terminal to terminal runs? You sleep at the terminals? I see many day cabs pulling them doubles and triples? How does a week start and off time start is it more like you take a 34 at home on on weekends?

This is linehaul? No touch?

We need drivers for all positions--LTL is blowing up like nothing we've ever seen. Linehaul drivers may or may not do dockwork depending on which yard they're at and which run they get, but they will be back at their home yard at the end of the shift. We do not sleep at terminals, we go home.
I do P&D, and my worst day delivering freight is better than my best day OTR. If you can deal with night shift and maybe driving a forklift, you'll make way more money for way less effort than I do.Grove_LA, RussianBearTruckeR, McUzi and 1 other person Thank this. -
Just got word my background check and drug screen cleared. All set to start cdl training with Reddaway next month. Looking forward to starting this career. Thanks for all the good info. You guys rule.

How’s the training grove? I have a interview Friday in Vegas with reddaway
-
Training been solid. I’ve since decided to go city driver route instead of linehaul. Retaking the road portion of the dmv test tomorrow to finalize my license. Probably finish out the week with my trainer then be on my own next week. I like it. The work isn’t s hellish as I imagined city driving would be. Plus my terminal is small so not a lot of line haul runs mostly shuttling all night to local terminals. Happy with the route I’m taking.Chinatown Thanks this.
