My DMV has a careless on it (2 yrs ago) with a DWAI 16yrs ago. I've found that to be a bit of a hinderence on the job apps.:biggrin_25510: I think having 2 college degrees makes some employers a bit wary. They wonder why I'm lookin for a truckin job with the background I have. I LOVE driving heavy machinery , Nursing sucks after 20 yrs! I want to drive a truck OTR!!!:biggrin_2555: Thanks for the info and the heads up.

I'll find both of those that you mentioned and apply. I'm gonna go to yellow pages to find land scape/construction/dirt hauling etc. to get started. Even applied to Jonson Moving and Waste Mgt. but I'm too old to lift heavystuff on a regular basis!LOL
If you can think of any more options please let me know. Sage was a good school but they didn't let me know about my "unhire status" when they took my check.

BTW Ipaid cash up front for my training at Sage. They had no reason to ensure prehires or recomendations. They were real persistent with job refs and leads even though i didn't owe them money. It was decent training and fair follow up.

Check out your local community college. They might be able to give you a truck driving course at a fraction of what some OTR's charge you. Of course, the only thing missing would be OTR experience. But it's still not bad, all you might have to do is drive trucks as a trainee and stay the 1 year without any recurse from the OTR company.
