I have seen your truck. It is just fine. I would drive it with pride.
I had a freightliner before my WesternStar. I got along with it just fine. You can get a LEMON no matter what the manufacturer.
Most important thing is to keep it maintained and be carefully of anything you buy.
Look it over and have someone you trust give you an opinion.

I've got a shaker too with buckets of miles on the 'ol girl. I really can't complain. I bank money for maintenance and breakdowns, other than that, she's paid for. Hoping I can make it another year without a major catastrophe as that's when I plan on trading up to a newer unit.
I drove a Volvo as a lease operator and it was a pretty decent rig. Pretty darn quiet and rode nice. I don't think I'd consider one if it had a Volvo motor under the hood though.

It don't matter what your driving Pete, KW, Freightliner, Volvocrap etc... if you are making payments on it you won't get anything for it not enough to pay it off.

Driver whatever you do, if you get a volvo get it with a cummins engine. I know there are people out there who may say that cummins are not good. I am here to tell you that volvo engines do not come close to the preformance of a cummins.

I would rather have a 290 Cummins then one of those Volvo engines. 10-4

No brother you misunderstand me. I'm agreeing with u when u say they are cheap ex-fleet trucks mostly. Now i'm sure they're overpriced compared to possibly getn one from someone just wanting to get it off their hands and use the cast to put down on a newer, nicer truck.

I knew they'd be worth a lot less if I traded it in, but scrap metal prices...WOW!! You told me somn new!! I'll keep that in mind.
But I was saying as for ME and Truck Metal looking to get our 1st trucks, that'll be the cheapest things we can buy with small money. (NOT SAYING that's a GOOD thing, but the only thing in my price range RIGHT NOW) I would like to find an O/O looking to sell theirs privately for down $$ to upgrade...or go out of business.

I have been riding past those same truck dealers I was talking about earlier and they got a couple of KW T2000's and Pete 387s on their lots about 6-8yrs old. I haven't been in to get prices, but they should be in the Truck Paper when it comes out. I'd love to get into somn like that (fell in love when I got in em for th 1st time) but like Medicine Man said...they're overpriced...the good ones are hard to find...

Truck Metal, u asked which dealers? Check your Truck Paper - Ray's Truck Sales - but it won't be much help 4u since u from ChiTown. STAY AWAY FROM TRUCKS FROM BIG FLEETS LIKE SWIFT, CRST, COVENANT, ESPECIALLY WERNER!!!! The drivers will NEVER care about a truck like it's their own cuz they don't have to pay for them...unless they do some CRAZY un-authorized modification to the truck and the company finds out about it.

That's kinda odd. I was listening to a conversation over the CB the other day. This gal was saying her company was getting rid of their Cummins equipped Volvos, and switching to Volvo motors. She said they were sick to death of replacing EGR valves, and the Volvos would run circles around the Cummins up hills.

My Volvo has a Cummins... I have never driven a Volvo with a volvo motor, so I cant comment. But, from those that I have spoken with that own a Volvo motor, the vast majority like the motors.
