Taking Chris's advise is a good move. Con-Way was the company I told you about. If I don't talk to you before, hope you and your family have a Happy Thanksgiving. And that goes to all of you on this thread and all the other threads, Happy Thanksgiving, be carefull, and be safe!

Van has a few friends around the Trucking Industry, I'm glad he was able to hook you up. He's been real good about helping students out trying to help them find jobs.

Good day yesterday.... I finally qualified on the 9-speed route!! I'd been very close 4 different times but I always seem to mess up on one small thing. Like one of my recent rides I did everything just fine except I hit the last curb coming into the parking lot. serious bummer
All I could do was laugh after I hit it. The parking lot, for crying out loud!!! hehehehehe
Bad day today though.... had a heated discussion with my least favorite instructor. I know all those guys are trying to help us and they MUST get frustrated at all the mistakes we make but he "tore into me" pretty well this morning. I left the truck out of gear but shut it off while doing my pre-trip. Then when I went to check my LAB (leaks, alarms and buttons) I wanted to put the chocks under the wheels so it wouldn't roll off after releasing the parking brake. I was primarily thinking about safety by trying to place the chocks but I admitted that I did not follow the secure shutdown procedure.
So anyway, I thought it would be best to come home, cool off and start fresh again tomorrow. I'm not one to give up very easily but the one thing I did NOT WANT is a shouting match. I suppose it boils down to the fact that I respect him as an instructor and an experienced driver but I totally disagree with some of his methods.
Anyway, 1 bad day and 25 good ones. I think that's pretty good so far. My wife would say I need to grow a thicker skin and not let stuff like that bother me. Maybe she's right.davidw and kickin chicken Thank this. -
Sam, one thing you can take from the bad day is, when your driving and everything is getting on your nerves, pull into a safe place and relax for alittle bit. That way you can get re-focused and keep thing in order. If you need to give me a call. Congrats on qualifing on 9-speed.
kickin chicken and serious_sam Thank this. -
Thanks David, I know everything isn't going to be perfect but I definitely don't give up all that easily. I had a much better day today!! I qualified on the 10-speed riding with Hans today!! And I'm going to be filling out several applications online this weekend, including Con-way, Roehl and Magnum.
