1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Okay...this is the type job I need...any suggestions?

In town driving job is the only answer for you. I know when I drove cement truck. our boss use to let us have a relative ride. That was a mom and pop operation. A bigger company would say no.

That is a lot to ask right now in these times but you never know, keep praying about it and see what doors open for you. you dont know what god has planned for you it might be staying out a week or two maybe helping someone you would not run into with a local job ? Thats the hard part sometimes the road we want to go down is not the road god has planned for us to travel down.

Maby you are supposed to get out there in the world and help the people you see on the road that need it? We are not all suposed to sit by the wet nurse, "some need to walk among the lepers", as it were.

Are there any factories there or close by? Any company making furniture? If so look and see who is hauling in there stuff. My husband picks up plywood in NC for a furniture place in VA. Sometimes he leaves at night and other times he waits until about 4am to leave. He is home daily. I know other trucks go to North Carolina and get fabric for the furniture company. I ride with him when I can, the comapny has said it is okay, I just have to hide from the other drivers. A couple of the drivers have about 6 kids and they don't want the kids in the trucks. At times I think the company agreed to let me ride because they needed him as much as he needed a job, that is one of the first questions he will ask, can my wife ride with me. If they say no than he will keep looking or find out why. We have always explained how long we have been married and do not like being seperated for any length of time and that there are anywhere from 5 to 7 more people in our house daily that live with us and I need a break. So this company said yes and gave me the letter for DOT that is required.
