Hey, I've stopped and informed dozens of drivers of issues I've noticed that were obvious when checking my rig in a parking spot at Love's, and I just happen to see a dead tire, or broken light. I've never called up somebody's company. If I were to see somebody pull up to fuel, I would have to assume they also intended to get tires done at the station. Only time I could assume they would be getting back on the road like that is if I saw them pulling out the station and back onto the interstate.
Needless to say, some people are crazy. I avoid confrontation not because I am afraid, but because I don't want to deal with the fallout. As long as I let them know, it is up to them how they address it. My conscious is clear after that, unless they give me some reason to need to call them in, such as if they say that it ain't their truck and they don't give a $#!7. Doesn't mean I don't care, but you wont catch me calling somebody's company unless there is some sort of maliciousness involved.
LOOK AT THIS STEER TIRE !!! LESS THAN 2/32" !!

Can't tell me he didn't feel that in the seat or steering wheel!
nredfor88, drvrtech77, 201 and 3 others Thank this. -
An 0/0 is not going to risk his tractor running a tire like that. The posters who automatically say it is an 0/0 have zero credibility. For $ 200. You can buy a tire that will pass a dot inspectiin. It may wobble, and shake but it probably won' t blow. This is on the driver, not the owner of the truck As far as what he hauls, I have no idea, and neither do you.
nredfor88, 201 and Mattflat362 Thank this. -
I see stuff like that every day.
Payday comes around and what you going to do ? You can fix whats wrong or put food on the table, oilfield hauling at its best. -
Really, that would not make 1 load in the Oil Field. Those Ranchers like rough roads
Deere hunter Thanks this. -
I find it real hard to believe a Company truck would let a tire go down this far. Not saying it's not possible but much greater chance of someone catching it. -

I told this driver where the truck tire shop was. Less than a mile away. He asked how to get there and I told him. I let a go at that. I believe he had every intention to go there. Whether he did or not I have no idea. I wasn't going to baby sit him or hold his hand to get there.
Calling the Police around here for something like this is futile. I've never seen such apathetic Police in my life and I used to work in LE.drvrtech77 and Charlies_Contingency Thank this. -
0/0 s arent stupid, paying more for a service call than what a new steer tire will cost. Is not greedy. That driver has never had a steer tire blow, or he would park the truck.
