Harsh collection tactics are very beneficial the bottom line...

I'm at the LS site next to Petro.carnesville Ga. It's a nice building but data for the phone sucks. Clash of the clans stutters.

Don't knock VW too hard. I was cruising up US78/now
I 22, way back in 1980 in a Ford F100 6 cyl pickup, with my business partner. Headed to Memphis to pick up a rebuilt Continental engine for out forklift business. He was older, and smoked the little cigarillo cigars.
We are running about 70 when this ragged looking VW bug comes along side straining and groaning but passing. It passed... He casually unwrapped a fresh cigarillo, licked, lit and took a draw. Then just as casually, stated."You have just been passed by a 37 HP engine".(I do not remember the exact HP he used so 37). The number is not important, just his outlook on the whole matter stays with me.

I had a friend who bought two in the late 80's. He cut the roof off one and made it a convertible. It was a dirty job saws all.

A successful used car salesman and VW lover said:
Knock it all you want, but what other car can you sit down behind, slide under, spread your legs, pull the engine and rebuild before putting it back and getting up.
Did say it went smoother if toolbox on left and all parts on right within reach. And beer on order by doubting bystander.

This was in high school. Matt was lazy/indifferent , messed up home life, loved vws, got out high school dated strippers, then decided to apply him self and became a lawyer. He was a nice person with a very good sense of humor and very smart. Big beastie boys lover. I wish I had that brain to be able to apply it like that and just soar. I struggled for what I got in school.

My uncle had a vw too. Bugs were cool. Lots of head room.

All this talk of VW's. It reminds me of a school teacher I had in the 1970's.
She was driving a beetle down the grapevine. She lost her brakes halfway down, Down near the bottom of the grapevine she saw a tractor trailer that was making it so she couldnt get by. On his mudflaps it had the words..............

    "Smile as you go under"

My Dad traded in his 77 Córdoba for aN 81 VW Schirocco S. It was a cool little car. $11000. Bought it for his wife. Had a 5 spd. Sunroof etc. It overheated and warped the head. At 60k the firm suspension rattled a lot. He had considered a Saab. Not sure what he was thinking.Yuk.
