I thought the same thing but then after I thought about it our rates have been low in relation to the market for quite a while now .
I think Morehouse didn't want to jump the gun with the covid rush and see the market drop again ...and now they are finally adjusting rates .

Now that I think more I talked to Brad about this time last year and he basically said he wasn't changing anything until he was confident the market would remain stable ...ive been here long enough to know they don't rush into anything and are as conservative with money as bankers .

Got into town today and got to have a sit down with Brad Morehouse...we haven't had an in depth conversation in a year .
Yes all of our rates are going up but not the 25% across the board that I had heard, some are going way up and others only a little , he is very upbeat and sounds like Good things lie ahead .
Something like 30 new trucks are being ordered along with a group of kw 990s .
We discussed me trading my truck in while the market is hot but I don't think I'm there yet and to much life left in my present truck .
A few more good paying contracts have been added and ill be starting one of them on Monday.
Things sure sound good but I'm only 2 months out from my truck being paid off and don't like the idea of another 5 years of payments so I'm going to see where things are in a year or 2 .
This is a hard decision for me as I was going to partially retire late this year.

Richest man in the graveyard comes to mind. If retiring was the plan, then do it.

I would stick with your truck till payoff and beyond. If repairs in the future out number what it would cost to replace it then do so. Buy another used truck and finish your career debt free. Just my two cents.

    Yes Sir,
And you don’t have to stay out for weeks at a time chasing a dollar to pay off a new one!

Well I've never stayed out longer than about 12 days and have always made good money here even after the truck expenses.
I like your idea of if I need to replace this truck before I fully retire I can go buy a used one with a very low payment or I can just drive part time casual for Morehouse but all that is years away yet with the condition of my present truck .
Also mentioned was another round of raises is coming to the company drivers ...this says alot because Morehouse is extremely conservative.
