Talking to the driver agent @8:00am for DS

Hello all, I have to tell the agent in the Morning Yea or nay and was hoping for some recent info to make my decision a little easier. I'd really like to drive but after reading all the horror stories i feel like i'm just going to the slaughter by trying to be a truck driver. I'm nervous about some knuckle head that had an argument with his wife or girlfriend before going to work and then everyone in his or her way is marked and the dismissel clock has started ticking, then Bam your hangin out to dry with no cdl and a big bill for a wet kiss. Is there seriously a way, and if so are you making money or are we just a # for another goverment check.
