Well, after 11 months almost to the day, I was called into my home terminal and told I was being terminated!
I readily admit to having a bad attitude that caused my termination.
At least the terminal mgr. is allowing me to bobtail 2 hrs home to clean out the truck and then 2 hrs back to the terminal to turn it in. He doesnt have to do that!
A few questions:
Should I believe the terminal mgr when he says that Knight wont trash my DAC report? He even "offered" to write a letter of reference to a future employer. He went as far as to say they could call this a "voluntary quit" by me instead of a termination! Should I trust him???
I have hated this job for the last 6 months, WHY DO I FEEL SO BAD ABOUT IT COMING TO AN END???
Aside from the fact that no one in NE Ohio is hiring now and I always get depressed over the holidays, I am not handling this very well to say the least! I dont want to keep on playing this stupid, pathetic game anymore! And the worst part is I only have myself and my temper to blame. I have allowed my temper to screw myself out of other jobs in the past and I cant seem to control it anymore today than even 10 years ago, so I am bound to repeat this over and over again.
Even now I am starting to just shut down, losing all hope and motivation. I'm getting too old for this #### of starting over and what employer in his right mind would think of hiring a loser like me: over 13 jobs in the last 10 years, middle-aged, bad attitude, and a bad temper. I am so screwed and I did it myself! I cant even blame anyone else!
Sorry I ranted long enough!
Knight Refrigerated and I are finally done!

I think you know the problem and you need to address it first before moving on. You could learn something in a anger management class. Smile, it's not the end of the world.
Jmurman Thanks this. -

after a lot of self reflection, i learned how to cope with stress and my own anger issues. they're what got me into a long history or trouble in the air farce..i mean, force. what i did was closed myself off to most of the world, my friends, and took a good, hard look in the mirror and asked myself, "do i like what i see?" the answer was "no". it wasn't an overnight change, however, but it did happen.
anyway, it seemed as if they were trying to get you to quit for the last few months. with all those lies about getting this load to get you home, and what not. maybe they finally decided, "oh snap, his raise is due. we gotta terminate him, and replace him with a lesser, more inexperienced driver!"
i don't want to be with this company for more than 2 more months. i have other plans that i do intend on taking on, such as getting back into shape, re-enlisting, and going from there. otr trucking is for losers. there's absolutely no money in this.
for the last few weeks now, i've had to BUY MY OWN #### FUEL because knight is too cheap/stupid to open my fuel card, or they cannot/will not override the broken fuel solution. they LOOOOOOOVE it when they see the receipt for the fuel, and then are forced into reimbursing me for it.
oh, by the way, 29% compliance for the month of november. -
More than likely they figured out you are the one making the posts and shining a light on how bad they are and believe you me, office slackers don't like that. Because you KNOW they hid this stuff as much as they can!
Oh and be thankful you aren't in a Knight Truck in Oregon right now, Woodburn Scales looked like a #### Knight Yard the other day, I pulled through and there was four Knight's around back.
Guess we did something bad again. And be happy that you can see your family again. -
Don't believe them about your DAC!
GET THAT LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION!
That way when they trash your DAC... You got something to back up your dispute!outerspacehillbilly Thanks this. -

Dave good luck to you. As Redd said COVER YOUR ARSE! Get everything the guy told you in writing so you have something to prove it when you have to fight them on the DAC BS because they will trash you.
-
No company can trash you unless you've broke the rules like vehicle abandonment or laws. You should leave with an eligible for re hire unless you've been terminated.

It's quite obvious you have not been around the block yet. No disrespect meant but these co's lie, cheat, and steal from drivers all the time especially to DAC causing them TONS of problems when they try to move on to the next co. Now as far as them being able to do it, NO they are not supposed to but they do anyway. Just the cold hard truth.
REDD Thanks this.
