Is it realistic to expect him to improve the economy, which took 8 years of complete mismanagement / corruption / and the bottomless pit of Iraq, in just 1 year ????

I think you need to go back 16 or so years, and yes this mess did not happen over night, you cant spent you way out of this mess.Take an look at look our dollar now, falling like an rock. You know why because were broke, and there just printing more, both party's gave the shift to the working people ,and yes he,s only been there going on 1 year,But the same people our are in the house/congress been there for years, and years voted for these laws that sent jobs overseas, these two wars, made it easy for wall street to rip us off,on and on.Now that been said how are we are going to pay for these new bills, health care bill that says if you do buy it you get be put in jail ,cap and tax bill, that will sent many more company's overseas,he,s stopping coal mining, how many jobs this will cost? We cant drill of oil off our coasts.like I said before what has he done in the pass year that will help the people of this great country, other then big pay backs?

I was ExpressAmerica for a few months till they just ran me broke ..And than had to borrow $$ from a friend to get home cause E/A would not give me any they just wanted me to sit somewhere else for another week till some other $300 load came up..Talk about leaveing a bad taste in your mouth. Expediteing is more for retired people who dont need to rely on the truck income to live on..in the mid 80's i worked for one of the first Expediteing co's out there and that was the last of the good $$$...

It's realistic to expect him to not back out on his "Buy American " campaign promise and give Canadian steel workers work that should go to U.S. workers . We aren't asking for complete recovery but asking for improvement is realistic .

You have a point . Many expedite teams are semi-retired couple with at least one drawing a pension . It is pretty well agreed their is not sufficient income for team members from different households or for a cargo van driver working for a fleet owner .

I agree with you. My husband and I are planning to give up the apartment and just live in the truck. We would eliminate all our personal bills, only having insurance for the car and the cell phone. With just truck expenses we can put money away for the future. Our children are married with homes of their own and extra bedrooms. When we want to visit family and need a few days off, we will just go home and stay with them. It doesn't make sense to pay rent when you're never home anyway. We will buy ourselves a little home when we are ready to retire(if that word even exists anymore!)

Just make sure you have a home address to use with the IRS or you won't be able to deduct for per diem .

To the political argument: you both should understand how the monetary system works before blaming anyone. This economic crash was created by the Bank of International Settlements, not by any president. They did the exact same thing to the Japanese economy a few years back. So long as we use a central banking system, (a fractional reserve system,) we will be at the mercy of international central bankers. Blaming and voting on politicians will continue to NOT solve the problem.

as far as this thread goes,
Does FedEx use solo drivers for any decent runs?
