Well I'm trying to get back in the drivers seat but I'm having a hard time because of where I live ( Fort Walton Beach,Fl by Pensacola). I have 7 months OTR in the last year (18 months total) I was really looking for a company that has APU's so I dont have to deal with this crazy idle policy, May Trucking is real close to me but there idle policy is just crazy, Central Ref. might hire me out of here, and I see a Prime truck here in town for hometime but I cant never seem to catch up with him before he leaves out, and I would have to call Knight to see if they would hire out of here, so I'm just looking for some info on these guys or maybe someone else that might take me on.

I used to live down there, you can't be super choosey when looking for carriers. I know Knight has a terminal and Roehl hires out of Florida. Millis might. CTL and CCC if you want something local. Good luck, it's a tough market in that state.

If you are thinking about Prime... you may want to call them and talk to a recruiter to see for sure, but I heard that they aren't hiring out of Florida.

They are only hiring out of certain regions right now... and I think the regions change pretty often, but l heard no Florida just recently.

tkcowboy is right too... the word is Company Drivers are doing well, but Lease Drivers are hit (some) and miss (mostly) right now.

    Good luck!

Have you tried Trans Am? I don't know if they hire out of Florida but they do have apu's on the trucks.

Where you're at--- call Covenant in Chattonooga. If that doesn't work, let us know.

Well Trans Am is a no and I'll try Covenant and see and I guess I could just sign up and pay for Idle Air, I didnt think about that but does any one know what that cost these days? The thing that sucks is I dont have much OTR but I have been around it for a little while I know the business for the most part and know how to drive the truck with no problems but that does'nt mean #### to these big companies.
