Guys, kicking still. I gotta admit that since my accident, I have lost a little confidence and desire to post. I suppose, at some point, I may leave FCC and over the road all together. Not that I can afford to retire, but starting to feel the need and want to be home, to sleep in my own bed and run near the house.

Nothing is imminent, but where I once thought I would stay over the road infinitely, I realize that I miss home and this can't be forever. God Bless you guys and this blog. I will try to post as the spirit moves me. Thanks for reaching out guys. Rest assured, No covid 19 diagnosis, or cancer, and not a fan of suicide either. Peace!

 

One great think about trucking is there are endless opportunities to fit your personal needs.
I went from a 3-4 week out OTR job to a home most weekends and once during the week type job. It has made my wife and home life much better. I make just a little less money but I work less, am happier and more rounded as a person. I haul a lot of light loads and have a lot of flexibility with my schedule. This week I’ll be in the truck 4 nights in a row and it seems SO long.... lol
Do what you have to do.... it’s your happiness and your life. Make the best of it

 

Amen to that, that’s the schedule that I run. It’s nice to be home on the weekends to have a normal life. Family, friends, hobbies etc not be gone living like a gypsy and worried every night about some idiot tearing your front end off in a Peelot parking lot. Eat healthy food without cooking some crap in a truck. Cleaner shower plus not having to deal with the fragrance of a truck stop bathroom in the morning. Some people call that a lifestyle, they can have it.
