Are there any efforts going on to catalog shippers/consignees who are abhorrently bad at loading/unloading?

When does a trucker get a say or where can they go to voice their opinion?

Charge detention, or move to open deck.

Detention doesn't make up for a 5+ hour holdup. The opportunity cost is much greater than that and moving to an open dock is far from a consistent option. It'd be nice to have some form of unified rating system that could be used to surcharge notoriously bad places. This could be formed by truckers overtime and utilized by the load boards, as well as carriers for their internal ratings.

    Oh I agree.

As far as open deck, I've been held up twice in the last six months. I'll take that over waiting for a door.

Only when the bad shippers and receivers can't find trucks will this end , we are in another period where every Tom dick and Harry is racing to get a truck so they too can get rich and when things cool off again the auction lots will be full of repos again while the tom dick and Harry's take any load they can get .
    Rinse and repeat .

So you go to a restaurant, the waitress tells you “you better hurry up and order, I’m too busy to deal with your crap so let’s go with the order!”

see your there for that customer, the customer isn’t there for you.

    Go with that analogy...

Say the customer of that restaurant sticks around after the meal...chatting, blocking the table from other patrons, and keeps asking for water. You've already cashed out and just need them to leave so you can go home. The next waitress needs that table to open up so they can serve the next patron

Just as it's reasonable to expect patrons to leave after the meal is done it's also reasonable to be loaded at the time you show up at a dock. Nothing is ever perfect. It just takes some humility on everyone's part
