I used to be a close friend of a retired teacher 20 years ago. And if I hadn't lived in the country all this time I would've believed you; I tend to believe his side based on his stories and my experience. And even though he did disagree with most policies (one of his children attended a private school), he still went to every teachers' strike being a less vocal and less visible supply guy in the trenches. He was able to retire early (maybe pushed out) with a full pension to attend to his own business that he established while working as a teacher. I am not hating teachers or their unions, but I hate paying higher property taxes every year for the same or lower student test results on standardized tests. Like I said in my earlier post, not every teacher can be categorized as a waste of taxpayers' money, but the fact that their unions cover ineffective teachers is and will reflect on current and future generations.
Teacher getting a CDL for summer work so I don't drive my wife insane?
