Sorry to hear you didn't get stuck in atlanta. We had fried chicken, potato salad, green beans, mac salad and apple pie for desert. Bet you wish you were in the south where that kind of food is and the temp is a balmly 48 right now( balmly in comparsion to where you are.) Love ya man!!!!!!![]()

Nahhhh, if they REALLY wanted to do that, they'd break my APU and take away the mini fridge. Would also give me only sos so miles like you.
-
BTW, they've got the new Loves opened in North Platte now. No more parking at the hook where the lot is designed for 48 footers. Woo Hoo

Thanks 1BAD I checked out Stevens and put in an App. Have apps in at Millis, Central, and Werner also. Millis already responded with the "not hiring non experienced drivers" email, I'm really just grasping at straws for whichever one will give me a shot. Hoping for Stevens or Central. Werner was sort of a last resort, but I don't know that I will hear anything from them.

I am not at Central anymore, just a hanger on.
I think that Central is still one of the better places to start. Just do not ever think to lease.
I am in Wytheville VA right now. Headed to Mountian Top PA. Nice little run that will use up the rest of my 70. I stayed out this past weekend and so far the miles were worth it.
Averaging 2300 a week, as of now. And home every weekend unless I ask to stay out. Not to shabby.
I got a message this morning. They shut down all of our trucks in the Midwest, where the snow is bad. Loads all getting resceduled, trucks sitting. Safer than running I guess.
You guys and gals have fun. I will have a short day tomarrow, only 6.5 hours coming back, but then 10.5 Friday and Sat, so should get home. Stay safe and slow down in the snow.
Also, Panhandle.
You know to move that truck in the snow, and you know not to set the trailer brakes.
Now you just need to make sure all the new guys know it.RRS44, Panhandle flash and jtrnr1951 Thank this. -
Got up at 6:30 this morning, left from Petro in Portage, WI made it as far as the TA in Madison, WI and called it a day. Not snowing much yet, but I-39 is a sheet of glass, but we are supposed to get 12-14 inches of snow by midnight turning to freezing rain. Trucks and cars off the road everywhere, it wasn't worth it it to keep going. I'm just going to sit this one out.
Hey widow, I'll take some fried chicken, mashed taters, and pie, you do deliver right??? I'll be here, not going anywhere. -
It was great meeting you. I could tell you thought the boys were in over their heads on the Camaro, but you were too polite to push the issue. You were right. They did as much work on it as they could and sold it to buy another that is in better shape.
Here is a story that I want you to take as a compliment to your good character:
About a week after we met you, my wife and I left town for several days. I remember telling her, "We need to put the keys to the pickup someplace where OneBad can find them just in case he has to reset in Colorado again."
We told the neighbor where the keys were hidden just in case you needed the pickup.
You seem like a good man and I hope things work out well for you and family. -
Thanks kid I will read this to him when he gets out of atlanta traffic and all the rain we are having today. I'm sure he appricates you.

Widow, I really wish I could show you all how good it used to be. Back when we felt we were all on the same team. I remember the Henderson yard had a big old Oldsmobile that was always parked there for us to run around in during our off time.
Back then, your travel agent (I still called my DM that), the maintenance crews, and the payroll department really felt like a big team. It was great.
This was before cell phones, so you kept everybody's numbers in your wallet and you found a payphone and called collect! I remember doing that at Dick Simon (Now Central) and they accepted the charges but said, "Hey, Driver!! Don't you see that 800 number on the side of your trailer? Call that number instead of calling collect."
Now in my defense, the number was only written on BOTH sides of the trailer, and it was only about 3 feet high numbers!!
But it goes to show how we all felt as one big team. Things were a LOT more fun. -
1bad was at Conley today picking his tractor back up. He got to witness a trainee drive a truck through the fence. Was that you Deacon? He tried to find you thinks he may of seen you from a distance on the range but not real sure. He picked up in Norcross on his way to scale the load but thinks he is going to be over weight so may have to take it back to KRaft and take another 10 hr break here at the house and head out in the morning going to NC then SC then PA. Let's hope he can slide his tandems and get it to weight out right so he can head on to NC. We could really used that load on this check so that we have a decent check before Christmas so I can finish paying off Santa!!!!!!!
