So are you guys up to $10 a mile average yet? I've mulled around the idea of putting a driver in my truck and just lining up loads and dispatching him/her myself, but I've hesitated to do it because of all this talk of a massive drive shortage.

What's the National average per mile for Open Deck Loads ?
PPDCT Thanks this. -
It's a good world to be driving, right now. Rates right now are making 2018 look downright silly. Don't wanna get too in depth with that, but I'm currently appending quotes with "theoretically" becaue there's so much flux right now that it's hard to have an accurate number.

So what's the deal then? Are there lots of guys who would normally be jumping into the O/O game because of the high rates, who currently can't now because of equipment scarcity? Thus, exacerbating the price of freight even higher right now?
I wonder what the company drivers are thinking looking from the inside out, realizing that the carriers they are hauling for are experiencing unprecedented (in some cases) rate increases, and yet their wages aren't moving accordingly.Last edited: May 14, 2021
