I started at 19 with a farm machinery dealer. They let me use the truck for the test, sent me with an old man to make sure I knew what I was doing. Was hauling oversized loads less than a year later.

Was pretty cool to be 21 years old hauling a new forage harvester worth 400k that was 12 feet wide, pulling into a rest area and jumping out to be asked if I was even old enough to drive a car, let alone a truck.

He's probably going to have a hard time finding a job. Not saying it isn't possible tho. I think the minimum age most companies want is 23. Maybe he could look at working the dock at an LTL company. They usually pay in the $20s I believe. Some will even train him to get his CDL. I think I saw you're in Tampa, there should be a few LTL terminals around there. Try Old Dominion Freight Lines, Estes, Saia, and FedEx. I believe they all have driver training programs
