Best choice in central Florida for training & job placement

Yes, FFE has local & regional jobs. I am actually coming off of linehaul & going local. Look up recent reviews on FFE.

Even though we are sister companies. They are run as two different companies. From how we are dispatched to home time.

For example I know KLLM drivers have to take everything out of their trucks if they are going to be away for a certain amount of time. The only time I have ever changed/cleaned out my truck was when my truck was being turned in for auction and I was given a new truck. My truck has sat for 2 weeks w/ no problem while I was on vacation.

Mid-Florida Tech has an 8 week 360 hour CDL training program that is under $3,000. That's about half what the training companies will charge you, and no contract obviously. They will give you about a dozen or so job leads and you will get many job offers upon completion.

you talked to a recruiter. LOL No, w/o a passport, you won't be going into Canada or Mexico. Even with one you won't go into Mexico. Out trucks never cross that border. You will run the 48 states. Currently it is 40 CPM for company and 1.04 per mile contractor. Plus fuel surcharge.

For training and experience it is a good place to start. I've actually switched to the "dark side" and gone contractor. Though not for the reasons a lot say they want to do it. I went for more flexibility. They for sure have the loads and miles for you to run. I just ran from NC to UT, then up to WA and back down to CO where I am waiting to deliver tomorrow.

 

I don’t think you’re with in range for a KLLM school. They are mostly for residents of TX, LA, MS, IL, IN, and permit holders from Ohio. We also go to the northeast but I’ve only been to MA once in the last 18mos and I think twice to NY; I do go to PA quite frequently.

You can do it; just be wary. Don’t let dispatch hurry you into a position. There are new guys living in Canada who are having to confront the same issues. I’ll admit being from the south snow is a bit foreign to me too.

I believe KLLM is a good starter company. Some drivers are happy to stay with these kinds of companies for their whole career. I like the hometime policy, earn 2 days off for every 7 out. FFEs is just as good.

I’m going to test this once I return to work. They towed my truck to the yard and it seemed like they would’ve let it sit for 2 weeks. They didn’t clean it out until after I told them I’d be out longer.

I need to stay out and make up for all my lost time and at least I won’t have a truck full of stuff to worry about now.
