My bid is actually a hair under 500 miles, an easy meet and turn, but I'm often sent back out for a short 150-mile round trip on top of that. That's what I did this morning. Almost 650 miles and an hour on the clock for drop/hooks and fueling. Insane, but I'll take it while it's available!

Good benefits package. HSA plan is free and they put money into the account. If the deductible is met, 100% of anything else is paid. I gotta crash, so I won't go into all the details, but it's a better deal than any insurance plan I've ever had. Match is 50% of 6% you put in. I'm pretty sure most city drivers are making about 75 to $80,000 a year these days depending on how busy their location is, their start time, and how eager they are to do extra work when it is offered to them. I know a class b driver who made $80,000 last year at a much lower pay scale because he was willing to do dock work. We are slammed right now, turning away freight from existing customers, and not selling to new customers. They are telling us we should be plenty busy for quite a while.Jimi Page Thanks this.

how does someone get top pay when they are hired? if you have experience you get top pay? is that how it works?
-
No experience necessary, if you have the right look and personality to represent the company.
Ward hired at least one guy right out of truck driving school.
Their training them on switches.
Companies competing for the drivers.

No problem. I had to call them after 2 weeks and no letter. Nobody bothered to tell they don't do that. Even the site said should receive one. Gotta love the TSA

Is Dayton linehaul night driving till you get seniority and can bid a day run? Seems this is only LTL discussed where nobody mentioned nights.
