So things are starting to get weird at my current company.
Used to office handled office things. I handled directions and getting to/from place to place safe and on time.

now I’m supposed to deal with the brokers.
Contact them for apt times contact them for eta contact them for NAMES and addresses ffs.
I either get a broker # and p/o number with no other info, or I get a name and broker/number.

is this #### common? Starting to feel like I should be paid for all the extra BS I now am expected to do.

During my career, it was not common. I did from time to time have loads where the customer/broker wanted real-time updates. Every once in a blue moon I had to contact the broker to set up an appt or get appt information.

This has been almost every load so far for the last week and a half or so.
One broker didn’t even know I expected detention pay.

Your company dispatcher might have quit LOL
I don't know that I'd find it more work. Unless your old dispatcher was good you probably didn't get the best or most complete info anyway. This way you get it from the horses mouth so to speak. Might be better...
Also. The broker might not know what your company pays you for detention but he sure as heck knew if you sat for many hours that you'd expect it. He just wanted to talk you out of it....
You should see if you can't get them to email you a rate con...just so you can...um... See the whole picture....

Yeah if you have to deal with the broker then maybe you can start getting rate cons and see what the load really pays. Your company might fairly quickly decide that theyd rather do things the old way.

Some brokers demand to talk to the driver or no load

Last rate confirmation I seen said like 3.67/mile plus fuel surcharge 118$? I’ve got a few somewhere I’ll dig out and look
Had the idea to ask for a raise but I don’t know if I even wanna stay here yet.

That's a reasonable rate. I make 25%. Nope sorry as of this week I make 25.75% woo hoo!!! So I'd take that load!!
If you read the contract for pick and drop address and it'll probably have actual phone # and hours of operations. Plus tidbits of required load bars or straps or broker required check calls or tracking apps or what they demand for detention pay outs.
Don't get too impatient. Your current load might be good cpm but it might have been a crappy paying prior load that got you out of a low rate hole to a high paying area so it balances out at a reasonable rate.

I expected as much. Just saying that as you watch what the loads pay and think about your raise keep a long view of the prices
