I received a reply back from a US retailer, stating that AMZ CA has stopped retailing their product due to increase in shipping costs. If that's factual, who is ripping into all that cake? Did anyone hear drivers getting a decent COVID boost in pay? Who's hoarding and therefore creating economic bottlenecks? WTF is happening?
original quote:"Unfortunately we don’t have any retailers in Canada that offer our ***** this year. In the past Amazon Canada has been the only retailer we had, but they aren’t offering our ***** due to increased shipping costs with COVID. There are a number of retailers here in the US that carry them and may be able to ship to Canada, but I’m not certain."
Who is getting all this extra money for shipping into Canada?

well said, rates in the States .. in the States, Oh Canada ohhhh Canada

Covid seems to be the go to excuse for everything. Probably Amazon Can. takes too big of a chunk of their profit to distribute the product and they were looking for a way out. Imo.
Phantom Trucker Thanks this. -
Amazon.ca is the problem. They are adding a huge markup on the product. A $100 item quickly becomes $200. But if you are a cross boarder trucker there are lots of places on the US side that will accept your shipment. Fees are low and you can take advantage of free shipping. Make sure you declare when returning to Canada. You can sign up for US prime for fast shipping

My broker buddies are making 70% on all loads now, haven't kicked a dime down the pipe.
skipgears Thanks this. -
They have been saying shipping costs are getting to high for years now and they continue to go up, but we as drivers esp owner operators haven't seen any change in the rates so your right were is all that money going?
Like buddy above has said the brokers are making more then the trucks and there overhead consists of a data plan and ink cartridges .
Government needs to regulate this industry and fast -

And another one would b having companies provide invoices amd preferably the invoice billed to said customer for shipment to owner operators on what each load pays who work on percentages of loadsskipgears Thanks this. -
Were you capping your profits a couple of years ago when rates to the truck were through the roof?
Lastly you want the government, that is lead by a failed drama teacher that has been spending like a drunken sailor in a strip bar since he was elected after stating he thinks that the budget is going to balance it's self to "fix" your problems in business. That's who you want making decisions for your business?
