I worked for oakley from 5/08 to 12/08 and got all the miles I could handle. I left to work in Iraq with KBR for 3 months but got sent home early before my year was up. I called oakley recruiting about going back and they are hiring so I contacted my old dispatcher and asked how the miles are with the economy being crappy. He told me his drivers are getting about 2200 miles a week which is not great but no one else in the trucking industry is doing any better. I'll probablly be at orientation next week. The Memphis TN. terminal is the one I worked from and couldn't ask for a better dispatcher (Rick). Drivers working out of the lake wales terminal either hated or liked their dispatcher depending on who they had but you can switch dispatchers if you want. The trucks are equiped with APU units which is a nice thing, 10 speed auto shifts, pre pass, have bouble bunks but small sleeper with very little storage. My volvo ran 70 MPH but I think they cut them back to 67 after I left. Home time is okay,I usually stayed out for 2 weeks but You can stay out as long as you like. You get $25 for pump off pay but nothing for tank washes. All 100% food grade and an extra 5 cents a mile for hazmat loads (liquor loads). My dispatcher never gave me a problem about layover pay, detention pay,or money on my fuel card for tolls. Directions on the qualcom are great, don't ever remember having bad ones. I was paid for all miles empty or loaded and also paid for miles to and from home. Pay isn't the greatest and they will push you to run if you let or want them to. They also paid $2000 every 6 months for retention pay. They also use loose leaf logs
Overall I can't complain, they treated me very good and even paid me my 6 month retention bonus after I left!!!!

Thank you for the reply how was your home time,, any problems?/

Oakley's policy is out for 2-3 weeks with one day off for every 7 days out. As with all OTR Co's,It all depends on your dispatcher and your willingness to communicte your demands. I had no problems with my dispatcher on home time (usually 2 weeks out) but was told by other drivers they had to make threats to get home. If you want to be home every weekend ,this is not the place for you unless you work as a local citrus hauler out of their lake wales terminal.
