Unfortunately in my job, that usually means "duh, what do you mean 'I have to write a check".

It's even worse when there's the notation of "certified funds" attached to it. I seen people get all shades of upset when being told they need a certified check. One furniture refinisher I used to deliver to on my old run had one where that was on the freight bill as what turned out to be a mistake. First words out of his mouth were "bull-####. I've been buying chemical from them for 25 years" and got right on the phone and lit somebody up.

That mistake never happened again. :laughing6:

I don't trust any trucking job. You're an accident away from losing it or not being able to drive again. Half my paycheck goes towards my own personal savings. If it happens that I'm out of a job, then I can potentially go 2-3 years living purely off my invested savings.

    Rule # 1.

It’s their world, and you’re just living in it.

Once you understand that, life is simple

CIF. Cash in Fist, and ComCheck. To me is gold.

Used to have to deal with that towing. Past due, over due accounts. Had a few of those altercations. Owner was a stickler and backed up his employees however. Never unload or drop till payment or signed bills.

I'm kinda partial to Special Agent Gibbs rules numbers --

40, If it seems like someone is out to get you, they are.
36, If you feel like you are being played, you probably are.
23, Never mess with a Marine's coffee... if you want to live.
91, When you walk away, don't look back.
09, Never go anywhere without a knife.
    73, Never meet your heroes.

    I LIVE by #9!
