i got a ticket dismissed just because the officer didnt specified the time. plea NOT Guilty always! even registration, you go to court and show judge you on point they will dismiss, specially on your first offence

Improper lane change is considered a serious violation. You get another I believe and it’s a suspension on your CDL. Why they want you to go to the class. Not 100% depending on state. Yup, should of fought it. They generally would reduce it if it’s your first offense. A speeding ticket would have been better. This will make it hard to find another job until it falls off in 3 years. Two death sentence tickets are Improper lane change and following too close tickets for other good driving jobs.

Time I was in traffic court right before covid, ( dimbulb tried to pass me on the right while I was making a right turn and I got the ticket) ( my ticket was dismissed) the judge was dismissing all registration tickets if the person brought proof of current registration. The judge was reducing and dismissing tickets right and left if the drivers showed up with the paperwork to prove whatever they got tickets for was corrected,
He reduced and dismissed a bunch speeding tickets too, Butbhw postponed one mans case
And made the guy get a doctors evaluation and retake the written and driving test because he suspected the guy had some neurological issues .

Also in my state you can request the case be shifted from whatever city or county court that wrote the ticket to state court.

that way the cop can’t predict the court date far in advance and the judge and prosecutor don’t work for the same money hungry city as the cop.
And in my state you can also request a jury trial for a speeding ticket.
I don’t know if anyone that’s ever done it but you can .

You MUST fight every ticket, no matter what, because a lot of getting tickets reduced or dismissed is based on the judge looking at your past driving record.
If they see you had a ticket last year , they won’t be so eager to dismiss this one , but if they look at
Your record and see zero tickets ever, they are much more likely to dismiss this one .

So keeping your driving record at zero tickets is critical.

it sucks to have to pay the lawyer a few hundred, but nowdays you have no choice,
You have hire an attorney to fight every ticket , no matter what it’s for.
The police department just want the money.
And a good local lawyer can almost always get it reduced or dismissed or suspended if you don’t have any other tickets on your record , and you’re ready to write a check for the ticket that’s getting reduced.

Every States different. In Michigan I try to show up early. A few times the Officer changes the ticket to a non moving violation. Sometimes they’ve actually given me 2 choices. They get their money, I get no points. Pennsylvania and East, send a Lawyer. Spend the money.
