My GF's diesel mechanic son saw a Swift driver at his Petro rip the nose off a parked tractor last week. Dragged the trailer across it pulling in off the street. He got hung up on it too! He said it looked like the guy was turning the corner in a car.
The driver's wife got out and said, "I told him to swing wider! I knew he was going to hit that truck!"

Would you have posted this if it was a driver from another company or did you post because it was Swift. Belive it or not, this also happens to drivers from other companies.
-
Yep, guess it would have a different title.
Sorry you got your feathers ruffled. -
People just like to pick on SWIFT...

There have been lots of posts about drivers from many different companies doing dumb things...
Bottom feeders like Swift tend to be the ones causing most of this kind of stuff.
If it makes you feel any better...The last time I was hit in a T/S it was a Wenger driver that tore my hood and bumper off...Oh Wait! I almost forgot about the CR England that backed into me and cracked my right front fender last year!

I live in Kingman, Az. right off I-40, and we have several big rig tow companies with storage yards. As I drive around town and see the various wrecks that have been in accidents, most are independents and these trucks are totaled. Now, I'm aware that a wrecked company truck could have been towed directly to the company yard or body shop, and not to a storage yard. Since Swift runs about 14,000 power units with a whole bunch of newbies behind the wheel, it stands to reason, statistically, that they will have quite a few accidents. The minor boo-boos, such as forgetting to remove the fuel hose, running over someones hood when pulling out, knocking down a street light pole on a right turn etc. come with in-experience. You don't see "old hands" doing this stuff.

Swift and there drivers are a constant source of amusement. My most recent story (which I've related recently)was the Swift truck that I came upon Southbound on the KS. turnpike. I noticed this huge shower of sparks lighting up the night. As I came up on his left I saw that the sparks were from him having left the landing gear nearly (if not all the way) down. When he pulled into the SVC plaza at Emporia, I had to ask him if he'd realized they were down. He replied that now he did and that he'd been told that they retract automatically. I nearly died!! I thought that stuff was only the stuff of legend until I saw it first hand...
