That's deceiving. They have 1hr of labor @ $315. So it looks like instead of charging full price for the oil/filters, they reduce the price of those (less $ paid in taxes) buy charge more in labor. So the price comes out the same.

He doesn't though. I dont know where he gets his oil/filters, but he still makes enough $ to cover his time. His labor rates are #### near too good to be true. Someone hooked me up with this guy, and he's freakin awesome.

I’m doing mine today. I see I bought Lucas Green grease. I think the red and tacky might hold up better on fifth wheel. High pressure grease?

AE236185-7EE5-42B4-B46B-C381A851F368.jpeg I had a quick drain valve for a while. Very handy. But no magnet. Also made me nervous, just being there. I like having the magnet on the plug. Never know what you’ll find.

I found a section of the dipstick tube once. My early years, thought my motor was falling apart.

Lol, that would be alarming. This pics from my first oil change after the overhaul. I had 6k on the oil. Even though we blew everything with air, wiped everything with a cloth, even ran a magnet around, still had debris from cutting the block counterbores. Second oil change at 16k, no more metal. I learned the first change instead of 5k as suggested should be at around 1k. Maybe less, I really don’t know. Either way, no harm done.

So I changed my oil, somehow had a wrong fuel filter. This was at 4:00 am. Spilled oil, made a mess. Started thundering and lightning, rained hard for 2 hrs. Had to wait till 7:00 am to get a filter. The whole time, I was thinking of this thread. Made a big mess, had oil all over me. Lol. My argument for DYI was weakened considerably. But it’s done. Lol.
