It's aluminum, don't heat it. Maybe a little at most. Get two steel plates put on either side then bend it with pipe wrench?

Edit: You ever decide what you are going to do about your stacks?NavigatorWife, JoeyJunk, Rideandrepair and 3 others Thank this. -
I'd call my insurance agent. He might have an idea or two.
Good luck.NavigatorWife, Rideandrepair and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -
I don't know anything about Conestogas or flatbed trailers but can you cut the bent section out and guide the curtain back in the rail past the damaged area?
NavigatorWife, JoeyJunk and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Any good mechanic or welding / machine shop should be able to bend the aluminum back out .
Might want to look into figuring out a way to install a steen guard / rub rail over the outside to protect the soft aluminum trackNavigatorWife, JoeyJunk, Rideandrepair and 1 other person Thank this. -
I’d think call your insurance and find the best and quickest shop. Unless you decide to just handle it yourself.
You may need to rent a trailer since most shops are overwhelmed. Even if it’s a different type. Probably have a better shot at getting the rental covered then lost wages.NavigatorWife, JoeyJunk and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Love the new age attitude.
We f'd your equipment up. Now leave. You're at fault.
@Ruthless How does he deal with this?Capacity, Speed_Drums, TheLoadOut and 5 others Thank this. -
Btw : i never had anyone refused loading my conestoga ( both flat and step ) , maybe dispatch does excellent work asking about it upfront .NavigatorWife, shooter19802003 and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
I dont have a problem finding right person to fix it ...other problem if it can be done right away ...finding for rent low pro step conestoga ? Just lol
I dont know if i want to run it through my insurance ( when last time someone backed into my driver pete at the truck stop - i did , even though its shows 0 payout some people advised against because claim is reported ...not sure about , maybe just rumors )
For now the plan is to send them a quote plus profit on their cancelled load due to their "attitude" and see their reaction , gonna talk to my attorney tomorrow .
Other questions if i decide not to wait and pay the bill to be back on the road asap - will their insurance cover it after ?!
Want to get it done right and have it just like after its been completed , not some temporary or hacksaw repair . This trailer will go for one panel replacement mid July anyway after the load shifted on the first load when i gave it to the driver and did some damagesLast edited: Jun 26, 2021
