My 2021 Rand Mcnally commercial atlas says that 129 in NC is not restricted at all. BUT in Tennessee 129 is restricted from the NC line to ChilhoweeNo Exit and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
You'd have to be a total truck driver to try to make that turn even without the signs.

A fabled two lane mountain pass. Eleven miles and 318 twists and turns.
It was a crisp and dark winter night, 02:00 after being held at a receiver
For 5 hours by the FDA while they searched for a missing piece of metal. #### it.
Being no stranger to the surrounding Hills.
Having breathed steam from her hot springs on frozen winter ground.
I pondered she would be at rest and unsuspecting at this late hour.
An tactical decision was made. To hitch a ride on her Tail.
With no illusions as to where the path lead. With laser eyes for any signage, I set forth.
Headlights illuminate jagged rock face on either side of the narrow twisting corridor.
Right hand cool, working the gear shift and splitter to keep momentum in 5th and 6th
At times, the relenting beast allowed the roaring Pete 579 to roll into 7th
Only to soon after roil feverishly to shake me from her tail.
The Hills in nearby WV will beckon a driver to borrow a bit of the oncoming lane
To avoid ripping open your trailer on the jagged rock cliffs and US 129 is no different.
Alas, there is a difference; the locals of WV are aware and drive accordingly.
The Tail lures in many a drunken tourist at times, and they are stupid.
Two wheelers flock there to test their marginal skills on her twists and turns.
It was a perilous ride and with caution it may someday be repeated,
Tho the sweeping hands of my trusty timepiece showed no significant benefit
As legend has it, E-bay sells a sticker for those who have dared.
As for I? I seek no glory by adorning such embellishments.
She knows I have ridden her tail. I know she can not be defeated.
Henceforth welcomed with many a cool mountain morning
At Beckley, without snow or being blocked in
Has assured me we have great respect and great appreciation,
One may say, a growing kindred bond.
