You should have asked the officer for their supervisor and should have never budged until you got all of the information you needed. You should have been on the phone with your own insurance company and they could have walked you through everything you needed to get. I wouldn't have budged until you took 100 pictures and got information of the company's insurance, the name and number of the manager, the operator that hit your equipment, and a police report. If you never got a police report, then good luck getting their insurance company to pay for anything.

12:30 i am at shipping , their truck inside not getting loaded , forklift explained that they are waiting for the load to come out of the mill to get that truck loaded but my load is ready and i should be loaded in 30 min to an hour ( its small company with one bay and that truck could be out for me to get loaded and I'd be gone in 30 min but no big deal i can wait hour , last load toward home , it was good week anyway ) , hour an 15 min later they still loading ( by looking on them i am trying to guess how long it will take them to load me being extremely bad at loading or completely inexperienced ) , 15 min later i am in their warehouse and the show begin ... another hour they play with their forklift loading me , each bundle was moved atleast 4-5 times before it was on the right position ( we are talking 2 forklift and my load sitting right next to the trailer ) , manager was standing next to me watching me the whole process and explaining me that those guys new ... he saw that I'm not happy but i never gave them attitude ... Loading done , manager asking me if i like it , i asked the guys to push bundles here and there and it happened ... Im pissed off telling the manager about his inexperienced forklift operators and waste time ( not calling names ) and asking him to mark what happened on the BOL and provide their liability insurance copy , the manager said : we are unloading you because of your attitude and you out . I think i had all of the management of the company around me waiting how this is going to be resolved , they refused to provide the cert or give any bol on this situation , other guy popped up ( i think he is the boss ) and literally screamed in my face GTFO OF MY PROPERY , i refused until its resolved , cops popped up , talked to both parties ( one cop was completely arrogant and asked me why i am such a pain , i explained him like there is an accident on the road and you called to come out to make a report , provide it later to insurance company ... so similar situation here ... i dont think he even got it ) ... before cops the big boss was explaining me that there is process to resolve it blablabla , as soon as cops showed up - all was resolved in 15 minLast edited: Jun 26, 2021

You’re good. They are not insurance claim adjusers for themselves. Send it to your insurance together with estimate for repair. Make sure to inform about downtime reimbursement you need.
