I look like a busted pipe at 0° in a Tshirt working. Just like 90° or 100°.

They are pretty awesome. Even a pipe made from texted pictures and my requested length was at my door in 2 days.

Why do these steel pipes rot like that? Is it junk steel, or is there some type of heat/cool cycle factor that I just don't understand?

My guess was bad paint process. Top looked good, like new. I just had to pick at it. It wasn't leaking. But I dont want a leak. That metal was cheap China recycle and not cleaned before primer.

We boat are recycle steel to China, its then melted down. And sent on boat back as coils. We still bring in more than we make in this country. That whole process is cheaper than paying American workers. Coils are rusty before the boat docks at US ports. Most the time its subpar impurities coming out of the metal. Because they have such stringent tolerance in China.

Well, i loaded drilling mud at Halliburton today. Got loaded fast. Had to put up with all the safety crap...which was a nightmare. After I get loaded, I ask where I can tarp. He looks at me and says "I dunno, but not here". So I say, ok...should I just pull over to the side then? To which he says....no....not here at all on the property. Another guy says that everyone goes back to town at the truckstop. You gotta be shutting me. Where my exact words.he says nope, safety won't allow it. So let me get this straight, you require all loads to be tarped, but you won't let folks tarp on the property? Swell. So, drove back into bell Fourche to the truckstop where the wind was howling to tarp. Back tarp went on fine. Then literally had to chase my other tarp across the parking lot. Awesome. Great day.

At at the point where I'd tell them I'm not tarping it then. Don't like it, unload me.

I am so sorry... I don't know why... but the image of someone literally chasing a tarp across the parking lot cracked me up...

Many years ago I had to substitute for a driver who was on vacation. That was Alcoa dedicated account hauling huge rolls of aluminum that had to be secured with 2 huge heavy ratchet straps in cross shape on top of each roll and hooked to the floor of the trailer..
I had never done that before but the driver told me not to worry.. cause the shipper would show me a video of how to do it... Yeah.... right.. :angry3:
Nobody taught me anything.. The docks were inside of the building... there were signs on the walls saying ".. by federal law, nobody but the driver is allowed to secure the load"... and driver had no more than five mins to do that before leaving the building with the load properly safe and secured... :angry1:
I am little.. the straps were big and heavy... I was totally awkward.. having a hard time...
The loader got impatient and angry... :angry1: I told him to go call my company and complain... And what about the video I was told? There was no video, nothing... :angry1:
Loader got psssd but he secured the load so that I could leave the dock soon...
And after I left the dock, I called the dispatcher who put me in that account and gave him a piece of my mind... :biggrin_25516:
I was in that account for one freakin week... But thankfully had only one other load like that and got help from another company driver who was used to securing those loads...
When I went back to my company I met with the dispatcher who put me thru that ordeal so to show him my size and why he should never again put me in that account... and he agreed with me...

    Exactly what I was thinking.

Picked up 12x12 tubing sitting in the mud at a drop yard in Laredo. She said you gotta tarp this. 700 dollar charge if you don't. Said it's a 700 charge if I do.

    It didn't get tarped.
