Why would you choose aluminum body on a dump truck?
Does the excavator operator stop loading when he spots bigger rocks and orders another truck?98989 Thanks this. -
Not all dump trucks are used for dig out or demolition work.daf105paccar and 98989 Thank this.

40t is max. chassis are usually rated at total 44t in legal aspect.
technical about 51-52t.spsauerland Thanks this. -
as for magirus, few of them arrived into north america as well.
there is a tv series called overland, in mid 90s they sent (i think 6 of them) on world trip, they came to north america driving over ice on bering pass (they had to remove containers while passing)
as for tatra, this is practical only in NL, this vehicle has no use anywhere else in europe in this formspsauerland Thanks this. -
In Sweden Tatra is the most popular 8x8 truck as some contractors use them as an alternative to a Volvo A25 when you have a construction site which is divided by a public road that you have use. The Tatra is more fuel efficient than a A25 and still very good offroad with single wheel offroad tires.

we have actually very positive feedback about digital ####pit (more than 2years in real use).
it is standard equipment for sleeper cabs, optional for day cabs and version for koleka's.
it eliminates need for many displays, i mean navigation, camera display, body interface can be implemented inside. there is app market for it, different telematics apps, ones that join order papers with gps etc.
it takes some time to get used to. some users in work trucks still wants classic buttons due dirty hands -
i agree with spsauerland. US has lower GVW in some states than we have. i think more strict weight control.
this truck is too sensitive for any serious work anyway.
when we talk 8x4 truck, this means, at least 25° of approach, departure and ramp angle, 1ft of ground clearance, all spring suspension with soft springs on front (better articulation to the terrain), hard springs on balance bogie back (tip stability) and traction. front axles are usually 2x 18k, rear 59k
always hub reduction axles, protected engine below with skid plate etc. Here no tipper truck was ever made without a subframe, it would simply break truck in our condition. In UK they make them without subframe, with hypoid axles, but still on springs (light ones)
most of them weight something like 34000 lbs with 13L engines and 3way tipper.
about lowest i can go with this version is 31k empty with 3way tipper, but this brings too many compromise.Last edited: Jul 7, 2021
spsauerland Thanks this. -
still dont agree. but i think dutch builders dont mind to have heavy trucks due higher legal GVW.
you can strip scania 10x4, 2way tipper made for rocks to 15t if you take care about weight.spsauerland Thanks this.
