NC Truck Driver Training School

Sam, I heard their are a few personnel changes ( instructor wise). If this is so, I hope the change is for the better. Once you start soloing, your skills will improve quickly. Not having an instructor in the truck helps the nerves. If you have any questions give me a call.

 

There's a rumor going around, but I can't really confirm anything because I'm in the dark myself. It has to do with that 'least favorite' instructor I mentioned earlier (during my bad day). Haven't seen him for about a week now.

Concerning my solo rides, I think you're probably right. I took my first solo run in the blue Mack truck today and it was a lot of fun. And I've got an orientation set up for December 28th with Werner down in Hotlanta.

I'm still calling and sending in applications in the meanwhile though. Asked Van to hook me up with a good company and he gave me a name and number for some folks. Cell phone battery died today but I will call them tomorrow and see if they are hiring. Van says they could get me out on the road really quick (like 2-3 weeks) because of a very intensive training program. I'll keep you posted as I find out more.

 

This least favorite instructor, are his initials SB? If not what are they?

And no, showtyme....It turned out that no permanent changes appear to have been made. But the initials were NOT SB. Hehehehehe

and graduation day has finally arrived. If my calculations are correct, it looks like I will be ranked third in my class. Got an A but messed up a little bit with my pretrip, coupling and forward exercise tests. I couldn't be happier to have it behind me though. Great training at NCTDT....i think Werner will be pleasantly surprised when I get behind the wheel of their truck.

Gotta run to the graduation breakfast. Talk to y'all again real soon.

 

Congrats Sam, I was in class 523 and I went with werner also. Are they sending u 2 the lithia springs terminal.

 

So, you're pretty happy with Werner so far?? I thought they might pay fairly low to start out but I need to get my foot in the door somewhere. They didn't mention anything about Lithia Springs. I'm going to Atlanta for orientation and then I have no idea what comes after that!! :-O

 

Yea that's the lithia terminal its right outside of atlanta. Yea the pay sucks , I just made my 1st solo delivery 2day at 26cent a mile I'm on the kraft dedicated account . Depending on what kind of trainer u get u can finish trainng in 5 weeks.
